Here are a couple of places to check out in this summer heat wave of London, from a cool ice bar to sunbathing by an open air lido swimming pool!

FRANKS BAR

Get the best view of Central London from south of the river at this trendy rooftop bar in Peckham. Ontop of a 10 storey car park, grab a few decent cocktails and watch the sun set with a nice breeze in the air on a summers evening. What more could you want from London so high?

Hampstead Heath Ponds

Time to heat it up with some lovely sun bathing on the heath of Hampstead, (and cool it down with a dip in the ponds!). They have Male, Female and Mixed Ponds to enjoy a summers day out, take a pic-nic and watch people splashing around – it’s just like the famous Georges-Pierre Seurat‘ painting of Bathers at Asnieres but the London version! Male and Female ponds are open 7.30-8pm and Mixed is 7.30 – 6pm and only £2 entry!

Brockwell Lido

Brockwell Lido, nestled in the corner of Brockwell Park, is a much-loved local landmark. It’s been at the heart of the local community since 1937 and is now an Grade II listed Art Deco building.’

Why not bathe and dip into this beautiful old school Lido swimming pool from the 1930’s? An intimate pooling experience with a busy lively atmosphere in summer and great ice lollies from the cafe! but make sure to get down early it can fill out quite fast.

Prices are at £6 entry and timings are Mon-Fri 6.30 – 8pm and Sat/Sun 8am-6pm
